Having guided England through the Six Nations as interim boss, Stuart Lancaster is now preparing his side for what could well be a gruelling summer tour series in South Africa, as full head coach.
It is clear that Lancaster has adapted well to life in the Twickenham hot seat. He has been able to create a strong environment for both the experienced and younger players in the national squad to thrive in and express themselves in a way that has produced results on the field.
Coming close runners up to Grand Slam winner, Wales, earlier this year, following a very poor World Cup in New Zealand, was largely down to the no nonsense coaching of the former Leeds boss.
However, Lancaster’s next challenge is arguably still one of the toughest tests in world rugby - to beat the Springboks on their own patch. Place a bet at www.betvictor.com for your shot at a big payday, this June.
England did not play particularly well throughout the Six Nations, this term, but still managed to grind out results against everyone except the Welsh.
Lancaster’s men cannot afford to be at anything below 100 per cent for their three Tests against the Springboks, but the England boss appears confident that his new-look side can get results in the southern hemisphere, this summer.
He said: "There is no reason I can think of why we shouldn't be ready for these Test matches. We are obviously missing a couple of key players, as South Africa are.
"It would have been great if Tom Wood, Tom Croft, Courtney Lawes, et al could have been here, but the players are fresh, hungry, and really looking forward to the games."
