Adam Jones insists that Wales can put their recent dip in form behind them and win yet another Six Nations title when the tournament begins early next year.
Wales claimed a second Grand Slam in five years at the start of 2012 following a memorable win over France.
However, the end of the year has not been so successful and a autumn series whitewash contributed to a run of seven successive defeats, meaning they have slipped down to third in the world rankings.
The squad can point to a number of serious injuries as one reason for their recent poor form with jones himself missing the autumn internationals due to a knee injury.
However, he made a return to competitive action for his club side Osprey in their shock Heineken Cup win over Toulouse last weekend.
He has played down the long term significance of Wales’ poor end to 2012 and insists that they will pick up their form in time for the Six Nations and are more than capable of repeating their glory of last spring.
"It was tough to miss the autumn series because you know what it's like in camp - the build-up is always exciting," said Jones.
"It was probably a good series to miss, the way it turned out. But I don't think we've turned into a poor team overnight.
"There's a lot of talent in the squad. If we can get everyone fit, we can give anyone in the Six Nations a run for their money.
