Rugby World Cup Celebrations, the Opening Day 10 views 0 Comments 12 Images
12 September 2011 by Real Deal See all

Several hours before the first game of the 2011 Rugby World Cup, I decided to head down to the Auckland waterfront to take in the party atmosphere (see video) of rugby fans from all corners of the globe.

What I found were thousands and thousands of revelers, having fun and enjoying themselves. Many were from Tonga as they were about to take on the All Blacks, all were in good spirits and everyone could feel that something special was going to happen.

I took some photos on my iPhone as I walked around, not as many as I would have liked as I was trying not to lose my seven year old daughter to the massive mob of people.

This is what I saw before the light faded and the game began.
