General Info Edit
Missing only ten of England’s 48 Test matches since his debut is quite an achievement for Nick Easter, along with 11 consecutive starts including the two games against Argentina in June 2009 before injury ruled him out the Investec Challenge matches that year.

He subsequently began every RBS 6 Nations Championship game and both summer Tests in Australia. Becoming the first England Number 8 to score four tries in a Test in only his fifth appearance, against Wales in the 2007 RWC warm-up game, rates highly among Nick’s other distinctions.

They also feature leading England in a Test for the first time when Samoa were beaten 26-13 at Twickenham in November 2010. He had previously captained an England XV to a 17-14 win over the Barbarians in 2008 and a repeat victory by 35-26 over them two years later. His fifth and most recent international try was against Australia in November 2008.

Not many players make their Test debut only eight days after a maiden England Saxons’ appearance but Nick did, first figuring off the bench in the 34-5 win over Italy A at Exeter and then being called into the starting line up against the full Azzurri team in the 20-7 victory at Twickenham.

He had joined Harlequins three years earlier from Orrell, for whom he had scored a try hat trick in the 55-44 extra-time defeat by Northampton Saints in the Powergen Cup seven seasons ago.

Born in Epsom and educated at the famous rugby nursery of Dulwich College, he played for the school and Old Alleynians and continued his studies at Nottingham Trent University. Nick then spent a year in South Africa teaching mathematics and graduating from the fourth team to the firsts at the Villagers’ club.

When returning to England, he worked in the City of London and played for Rosslyn Park before signing for Orrell.

After moving to Harlequins, he quickly became the club’s player of the year in both 2005 and 2006 and his knack of scoring opportunist tries brought him 17 in 80 Aviva Premiership matches by mid January this year. His younger brother Mark, a back row forward, plays for Northampton Saints.
