General Info Edit Digby Ioane is an electric runner with explosive speed and a giant step that has torn apart many an opposition.  His normal position is on the wing, but he can also slot in at centre.  Ioane is relatively small by modern game standards, however this is more than compensated for by the live-wire attitude brought to the park. As with many other stars of the game, Ioane came through the agre groups as a standout player, having played for the Australian Under 19's and the Australian Under 21's in the same year (2004), and continuing for the Under 21's for another 2 years after that (2004, 2005, 2006).  In 2006 he was nominated for the Under 21 International Player of the Year. He nearly earned the highest honours during 2006, before even playing a Super 15 game, having been selected for the end of year tour to France and the UK.  He never took the field, but did get to play a game for Australia A against the French Barbarians. Ioane initially played his Super Rugby with the Western Force (2006, 2007) before moving to his current home, the Queensland Reds.  2011 was definitely his best year as the Reds put on a sterling year. Despite all his talent, Ioane hasn't managed to cement a guaranteed spot in the Australian side, although he has become a regular.
