Aussie speedster Cooper Vuna has admitted he is ready for a Welsh backlash in the second Test in Melbourne after the Wallabies clinched a 27-19 first game victory against the tourists.
The winger made his international debut in the win, impressing throughout and taking his chance following Joe Tomane’s ankle injury had opened the door for the Rebels star.
The result was all the more important for the Wallabies following their shock 9-6 defeat to Scotland the previous week – something even the bravest of punters placing online bets had not predicted.
However, Robbie Deans’ charges will need to be ready for a real test in the second of three games against Wales.
The 27-19 victory proved just how tough the Welsh are, and Vuna has made it clear the team are ready for what the tourists bring to the table in Melbourne.
"I guess we're just going to try and stick to the same game plan. As much as we can stay close to the game plan, I guess we'll come up with a good result," Vuna told rugby previews writers .
"It's going to be a hard game. Wales will definitely bounce back and, whoever wins round two, it's going to be a good battle.”
"It's going to be exciting and the boys are ready for it, they're up for the challenge and I guess we're just going to wait for the weekend and see what the result is at the end."
The former rugby league star has taken well to his switch in codes, catching the eye for the Rebels after his move from the Newcastle Knights. Now the test will be for Vuna to build on his impressive start to his international career and keep his place in the team.
