Gavin Henson has not had the smoothest return to rugby union, since his hiatus from the game, but newly promoted London Welsh could offer the centre a chance to prove his worth in the Aviva Premiership, next season.
The Welsh are 300/1 to claim the Aviva Premiership title, next season. Brave punters can place a bet at Bet Victor.
The 30-year-old has played for a handful of clubs since his return, with spells at Saracens, Toulon, and Cardiff Blues all coming and going.
Disciplinary issues put an end to his time in France and Cardiff, but London Welsh head coach, Lyn Jones, appears to be willing to offer Henson a lifeline.
He said: "Gav is one of many quality players who are on the market, and we would certainly be interested in speaking to him at some point, if it was possible."
Henson, if he does secure a contract with the Exiles, would be set for the toughest possible start with the newcomers to the Aviva Premiership.
London Welsh have the small matter of taking on Leicester Tigers in their opening game of the campaign, side who have consistently been ‘there or thereabouts’ in the league, over the past decade.
If that was not difficult enough, the Championship title holders face the reigning champions of England Harlequins in their second fixture, in what will be a baptism of fire for Jones and his squad.
The British and Irish Lions centre can still offer much to a club, but his time on the international stage might well have come to an end, as Wales are not short of talent in the star studded backline that secured the Six Nations Grand Slam, this season.
If Henson can avoid injury and keep his discipline in check, there is no reason why he cannot be a success with the Exiles.
