See who made the Super Rugby Team of Round 3 based on the statistics.
The Super Rugby XV Team of Round 3 has been named and there are plenty of new faces. Melbourne Rebels captain Scott Higginbotham was the Super Rugby Player of Round 3 with 455 points in www.testrugby.com thanks to a try, an assist, eight tackles (according to their definition of him being the first tackler), three go forwards and line breaks and two lineouts among other things. Australians dominated proceedings with Luke Burgess and Robbie Coleman having strong games.
There were some other great performers including Blues winger Frank Halai who scored a stunning try against the Crusaders and also made the Super Rugby Team of Round 3 after making nine tackles, two line breaks and five go forwards.
Hurricanes and All Blacks hooker Dane Coles who scored 350 points from seven lineouts and go forwards, five scrums and eight tackles.
The Super Rugby XV Team of Round 3 features
6 Australian based players
5 New Zealand based players
4 South African based players
It was rare not to see Israel Folau not make the Super Rugby Team of the Round after scoring a double against the Reds. It is time to trade Folau and any other Waratahs, Chiefs or Highlanders in your teams because these three teams have the bye in Super Rugby Round 4. The Sharks come off the bye in Super Rugby Round 4 and it could be worthwhile buying some of their more established players like Bismarck Du Plessis, Lwazi Mvovo and Patrick Lambie early to save on price.
For those people playing www.testrugby.com we have featured the Super Rugby Round 3 Team of the Round at the bottom of this post. It is interesting to note that only Kurtley Beale and Scott Higginbotham are owned by over ten percent of teams. Before you go and rush out to buy the likes of Liam Coltman, Malakai Fekitoa and Joe Wheeler, remember that the Highlanders, Waratahs and Chiefs have the bye in Round 4.
Player values increase depending on how many people own them. This means that there are still plenty of great value for money players in Super Rugby 2014.
