People call him a rare talent who has been ruined due to mismanagement. I disagree.

What I don't understand is how people could possibly think that his failure to make it at international level is due to coaches not trusting him. The simple truth is that he's not good enough whether he plays scrumhalf, flyhalf, wing or fullback, he is not the best at his position in the country and therefore does not deserve to make the team.

Stop over-rating this incredibly average scrumhalf!!!!!

I disagree completely! Ruan was never given a real chance! If you want to talk about the most overrated player in rugby history - look no further than Earl Rose! How the hell has this guy made springbok training squads when he is a never-has-been! He has never done jack-shit for whatever province he has played for! Our national selectors should find jobs as stand-up comedians! What a joke!
