Can anyone beat the Waratahs in Super Rugby 2014?
Super 15 Rugby Round 18 answered several questions, but still left the chances of many teams dangling by a thread. The Waratahs secured pole position with a convincing win over the Highlanders and can't be caught, while the Crusaders went a long way towards confirming themselves as the best team in the New Zealand conference.
The Chiefs and Force stayed in the hunt with crucial victories, while the Blues, Hurricanes and even the Highlanders will be sweating on other results. The Sharks and Bulls were beaten by lower positioned teams in the Cheetahs and Stormers respectively, leaving the Sharks in danger of missing out on the Top Two overall.
For SuperBru tipsters, the major upset was the Cheetahs win over the Sharks which only 11 percent of tipsters predicted. This stopped many tipsters from claiming the Grand Slam Bonus Point. Most of the other results went according to plan with wins for the Chiefs, Stormers and Force splitting the tipsters. Most people thought the Waratahs would beat the Highlanders, but not by such a big margin!
Can anyone stop the Waratahs winning Super Rugby 2014?
I think the Waratahs will be tough to beat at home, but the Crusaders probably have the best chance out of anyone.
