Super Rugby finals are almost here. Who are you picking to make the finals?
There is only one round of games in Super Rugby 2014. While the Waratahs are leading with 53 points and can't be caught, the Sharks and Crusaders are both likely to win their conferences and qualify for the finals, leaving three spots left for six teams to squeeze into. Something has got to give!
Who will make the finals?
Highlanders 42 points
The Highlanders were thrashed by the Waratahs, but fortunately for them, the draw is favourable apart from the Highlanders playing the Crusaders. The Blues play the Chiefs and the Brumbies host the Force which means that the losers of the two derby matches will most likely be eliminated.
Hurricanes 41 points
The Hurricanes are stranded on 41 points and this leaves them at the mercy of other teams. The Hurricanes will want the Blues to beat the Chiefs and stop them getting more than one bonus point.
Brumbies 40 points
The Brumbies are hot favourites to beat the Force and this should see them cement Australia's second finals berth. A win for them will take them up to fourth overall, assuming the Highlanders lose to the Crusaders, but could depend on if the Chiefs can beat the Blues.
Force 40 points
The Force have to beat the Brumbies to definitely make the finals. They are in a good position with nine wins to make it with a bonus point against the Brumbies, but they would be in trouble if the Chiefs beat the Blues.
Chiefs 40 points
The Chiefs play the Blues away at Eden Park which is a tough match, especially since the Blues still have a mathematical chance of making the Top Six. The Chiefs will need at least 42 to make the finals.
Blues 36 points
The Blues need a bonus point win with four tries. This would take them to 41 points and a shot a sixth place. It is a long shot for them to make it.

According to my calculations three teams will finish on 41 points, but the Force would advance because they have won nine games compared with eight games won by the Chiefs and Hurricanes.
My pick is the Waratahs to finish top followed by the Crusaders, Sharks, Brumbies, Highlanders and Force.
