Scotty Donaldson looks at the British and Irish Lions vs Reds. Can the Reds win?
Of major interest to most spectators will be to see how Quade Cooper plays for the Reds.
The British and Irish Lions squad will have given everyone a run after this weekend. There aren't many players who fronted against the Force midweek, meaning most www.testrugby.com managers had to make transfers.
I can see why managers get so many trades. Now that the British and Irish Lions are playing against better opposition, these opponents are more expensive and so more difficult to afford.
It is difficult to afford both Owen Farrell and Quade Cooper who will more than likely kick goals for example. It is crucial to stack your team with British and Irish Lions players. I have gone for four local players in Ben Tapuai, James Hanson, Adam Wallace-Harrison and Ed Quirk. Stuart Hogg and Geoff Parling are the best budget priced British and Irish Lions, while I have retained the dynamic Manu Tuilagi who should score some big points.
It is difficult to see the Queensland Reds winning, but I think this game will be closer than the British and Irish Lions last game against the Western Force. While this is a solid looking Reds team, the British and Irish Lions is the cream of the European crop and so the visitors will win comfortably.
My pick British and Irish Lions by 28 points - although I have gone higher in my SuperBru picks.
Can the Reds beat the British and Irish Lions?
Have your say!
