Correct margin predictions: 20 from 41- 49%
Right! We're back on track. 4 from 7 correct margin predictions last weekend, and I'm feeling good about this round... though I will admit, the last time I said that it resulted in the worst Formula prediction on record. Still, fortune favours the brave, and this round looks like one that punters should be able to take advantage of. If they have the right hand to guide them that is.
Sharks vs Crusaders
Why is everyone keeping so quiet on Bleneyendaal? What an amazing performance from the kid last week! I can't remember the last time I saw a 10 control a game so well in Super Rugby. His tactical kicking was superb - in trying conditions - and every time the Stormers got some momentum up he would just turn them around and bang the ball into their 22. Be that as it may, they're going to miss Carter, Dagg, Read and McCaw this week, and the raw abrassiveness of the Sharks should see them home. SHARKS BY 12 AND UNDER.
Blues vs Highlanders
The Highlanders are really missing some quality loosies, though Joseph has somehow managed to haul Tuialii' in from Japan. Of equal concern is that 13 position, and Ellison can't come back from injury soon enough. The tight 5 is being outmuscled at the breakdown week in, week out. The Highlanders are a team clearly lacking cohesion, and Joseph should be striving to field the same team for the remainder of the season. Kirwan and Henry will be fuming after letting the Tah's game slip last week, so don't expect the same mistake to be repeated this time round. The Formula has crunched the numbers and it's the BLUES BY 13 AND OVER here. Ouch.
**REVISED TO BLUES BY 12 AND UNDER - FORGOT TO CALCULATE THE CHEIFS/BLUES GAME LAST WEEK**
Brumbies vs Kings
Like the Kings, and like their fight. But they're way out of their league here. BRUMBIES BY 13 AND OVER.
Force vs Rebels
Despite the Rebels taking this one in round one, things have changed since then. Kurtley and Delve are gone, massive blows for a team with zero depth, and there's only so much O'Connor can do on his own - from the back no less. I've been impressed with the Force this year, and like the hard look of their loosies, while Alfi has been great out wide. The real star has been Ebersohn however.Big, reliable boot and a decent all round game. FORCE BY 12 AND UNDER.
Cheetahs vs Stormers
The toughest one to pick for me in regards to head to head predictions. The Formula has the Stormers taking this one, mainly because of their win over the Chiefs. I'm aware they fell to a weakened Crusaders outfit last week, but quiet frankly, they were beaten by a better 10 who possesses a better tactical kicking game. Coetzee should have been castrated for not putting the better boot of Grant into the 10 position upon seeing the windy, harsh Newlands weather. Anyway, despite my love of the Cheetahs, the Stormers still have a better team - especially with the Goose out - and being a derby match, home ground advantage plays less of a factor. STORMERS BY 12 AND UNDER.
Hurricanes vs Waratahs
Should be an interesting one this one. If either of these teams are truly looking to break into the top 4, they have to take these ones. With home ground advantage, the Hurricanes should have too much firepower here, and see out an improving Waratahs outfit. HURRICANES BY 12 AND UNDER.
And that's it. Go make some money.
