Hire Experts For Concrete Cutting Making The Best
Concrete Driveways Adelaide is often recommended because of their low servicing. While road needs maintenance over several decades, concrete, once set up and enclosed, needs very little care. However, the concrete costs more than the road to set up, so you do pay a price for the time you will save.

Samoa, Samoa, Oh what a bugger, Samoa 4 views 13 Comments
01 October 2011 by deep

Hot off the entrails of possibly the best match of the tournament to date, Samoa get to pack their bags and go home (probably a quick drive to a suburb in Auckland, but that is home all the same to the biggest pacific island city in the world!)

Samoa deserved so much more.  They dominated most of the game, but as ever the underdogs get the rough end of the ref's whistle at key moments.  Who cares about a few calls in the middle of the park.  What could it have been if......
  1. In the first half, hot on attack and under the posts, was it really a Samoan hand in the ruck, or was it twenty South African hands all over the ball stopping it from coming out?
  2. End of the first half, Samoa running riot up the right flank, ref in the way, stops play and calls it half-time... could that have converted into something?
  3. Second half, Lemi rips SA apart up the middle, Lamb takes him to ground but let's go - but not according to the ref!
If one of these 3 movements converted into points for Samoa instead of a penalty against, the night may well have been different.  It could have been a huge upset and a massive year for the boys in blue with a second major international scalp under their belt.

Instead it wasn't and the predictable outcome prevailed.

It was however a genuine test match, and game that the pacific lads can be hugely proud of.  The South Africans certainly know they went to battle, and while sore for a few days will in the end be much the better off leading into a grueling finals series.

This is what the RWC is all about. - loving every minute of it.

I hope the pacific colours still shine through the remainder of the tournament, and bring the fervour and fun that has been so pervasive this far.

The ref was equally bad for both teams........ So let's stop the whinging! The boks won because of great scramble defense, first time tackling needs work.

Breaking news, Carter is indeed seriously injured, and out of the World Cup.

Shoot. Four more years?

Oh, and not on the point, but congrats Tonga! And at halftime Scotland are leading 9-3! Could be a big night of upsets!

SA will miss Franz Steyn. As a Kiwi, the sheer distance he gets on his kicks scares me. And he has looked one of the more dangerous threats of SA with ball in hand.

I suspect Carter isn't hurt very much at all. Seems odd that both Carter and McCaw have been late scratchings against both Japan and Canada, yet both play against France. Unlucky sods whoever has them in their fantasy team, Carter in particular could have made decent points against Canada.

No if Carter is hurt the All Blacks have some problems. Colin Slade unfortunately is just not the same class as Carter.

Frans Steyn out of the World Cup, thats not good. He has been doing great work at inside and his cannon foot will be missed by the Boks.

Too bad, looks like Jean de Villiers will be forced onto the field. And we all know what a bad combination Jean and Jaques Fourie is :)

UberSTI - would you still that say so comfertably with rumours that Dan Carter is out of the WC?
The Springbok is surely going to miss Frans Steyn (95% sure he is coming back to SA).
As for the SA vs Samoa game - yes a true test match with great phyiscality, some referee errors and lots of the ball stuff. Question is if any of that will be pointed out after the game?

What amuse me is how everybody keep saying South Africa were lucky. Firstly against Wales and now against Samoa. I guess it is true. The harder you practice, the luckier you get?

Fact of the matter NZ is going to win this world cup.

The only team that have the capacity and class to spoil their fun is the Boks. Not saying this is going to happen. As you can see the Boks have a moron as a coach,Pieter de Villiers mostly leaves the SA public with a huge WTF expression written on their surprised foreheads. However the Boks have truly excellent players.

Also just a heads up, there is a new fly half playing for the Free State in die Currie Cup. He is only 19 but WOW. Keep an eye on him next years. His name is Johan Goosen. He kicked a 67m penalty for Grey College in Bloemfontein when he was only 17/18! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wLtxNe0nD0

Was a great test match, agree with you there. Some of these comments are getting rather entertaining as well. Whats with the shots at Kiwis already? We weren't even playing! Hell, we must be awesome if people feel the need to slag us off in unrelated games. =)

I kinda feel for Samoa re the red card incident. The Samoan pushed the palm of his hand into Rousseau's face, after being smacked by Rousseau a few times (maybe because he was holding Rosseau in the ruck?) There did seem to be an element of diving involved on Rousseau's part though. Far be it from me to question the guys integrity, but I wouldn't have expected most rugby players to have been knocked over by that.

Equally feel though for Smit and his yellow. Its a very fine line as to whether a person is legitimately going for an intercept or is trying to kill the ball. Think he was hard done by there.

Refs are mostly impartial, most of the time. In a game like rugby there is bound to be a few 50/50 calls. What distinguishes the top teams like South Africa from the others is that they can win even when those 50/50 calls go against them.

I believe Samoa have regressed. In what was a home game for them. They exhibited skulduggery worthy of a 1970's French team. They do not have the mental fortitude to take there game to the next level. There whinging before and after the game does not endure them to anyone except there local supporters. They reached a quarter final 16 years ago, so there has been no improvement in all those years. There should have been atleast three more cards against them. Happy that the disgraceful dirty Brian Lima has retired. I am afraid they will always be one of the minnows in world rugby. I will support the likes of Japan who show true courage and not the cheap shot type so loved by the Samoans and there cyclops supporters.

I am not you mate.Williams is a disgrace to world rugby but you wont agree with me because his father happens to be a big shot in the All Black setup. You and your bunch of chokers should have been shouting for the Springboks you STUPID TWIT because now you bunch of Fernies wont make the final.Lets see how lucky New Zealand are against the impending Wales game.

@boarder bulldogs bite: Are u serious mate? The South Africans were just as dirty as the samoans mate, pretty sure everyone would agree there. The ref was terrible, made bad decisions in critical moments of the game. Samoa deserve more, South Africa were lucky.

What a disgrace! How can sing sweet songs about a team that was dirty from the first to the last minute.I used to have respect for them but now they can go to hell. The ref was weak and if these thugs had played a northern hemisphere side Samoa would have finished with 10 on the park.
