Having snapped up talented winger Sean Maitland from Super Rugby outfit Crusaders, Glasgow Warriors look like they could develop this player into a potential star for the club and maybe even for Scotland.
Maitland has agreed a three-year contract with the Warriors and pending a visa decision and a completed medical, the 24-year-old will be looking to make a big impact in the RaboDirect Pro12.
The winger, who can also slot in at full-back, has a family background from north of the border with both his grandfathers coming from Scotland.
This might well be music to national coach Andy Robinson’s ears, as he may have acquired another talented winger for the autumn internationals if not the Six Nations early next year.
Of course Maitland’s international future is still up in the air and for now the youngster must focus on scoring tries for Glasgow.
This is a prospect that Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend has admitted he is very excited by, in a deal which could give a big boost to the Scottish side’s season.
The former Scotland fly-half said: "He will be a fantastic addition to our squad and will, I'm sure, be very popular with our supporters.
"It's another indication of the increasing profile of Glasgow Warriors that a player of Sean's ability and ambition sees us as a club where he can continue to progress."
Having brought Dutch winger Tim Visser to the Scotland squad, Maitland could be the next import to have an impact on the national side, who will be determined to build on the their impressive tour of the southern hemisphere last summer.
