Barritt fires England warning 8 views 0 Comments 0 Images

England centre Brad Barritt concedes his side have a lot of improving to do ahead of their clash with Australia on Saturday after chances went begging against Fiji last weekend.

The Fijians were dismissed 54-12 at Twickenham last Saturday but Stuart Lancaster’s men could and perhaps should have scored more, something they will not be able to get away with against the Wallabies next weekend.

Australia will be a wounded animal after they were humbled by France in Paris, the 33-6 defeat ramping up the pressure following their below par displays in the recent Rugby Championship. The latest rugby winning odds puts them as slender favourites, though the gap is closing.

Barritt though has been quick to warn anyone who may get complacent following last weekend’s respective results, citing the improvement that needed to be made to his own side’s performance.

He also believes that a ‘wounded’ Australia will be desperate to bounce back at Twickenham, meaning you have extra reason to be wary if you’re considering using your Betfair Free Bet  to back the hosts.

"There were numerous opportunities that we created and the positive thing is that the team played with intent and a willingness to play with the ball.

"At this point in time we have to take it week by week - we're not looking further ahead than Australia in the same way as we didn't look further ahead than Fiji last week.

"Australia are coming off the back of a big defeat in France so they will have a point to prove at Twickenham. It's huge - Australia, they are two-time World Cup winners so for me it would be a great afternoon for me if I play."

“Ultimately we need to improve our decision-making and be more clinical."
