Scotty Donaldson looks at the Super Rugby Round 10 team of the round best players of Round 10. Do the points match actual performance?
There was a real mixture of players in Super Rugby Round 10 Team of the Round with several players from the Highlanders vs Cheetahs high-scoring match. Some new faces to make the Team of the Round include Hika Elliot, Jeremy Thrush, Luke Braid, Wycliff Palu and Henry Speight. Some other old hands return like Ben Smith, Tamati Ellison, Robbie Fruean, Johan Goosen and Coenie Oosthuizen after a barren patch. What is refreshing is the number of players who made the team despite being in a losing team. Robbie Fruean was the top player of Round 10, while Hika Elliott and Peter Grant weren't far behind. Fruean is putting some heat on the other All Black fielders like Ma'a Nonu, Conrad Smith, Sonny Bill Williams and Richard Kahui.
Don't give into temptation by buying Peter Grant after his productive last few weeks since taking over the goal-kicking for the Stormers, but his team has the bye next round. There are also some previous players from Team of the Round returning to action next week following the bye round from the Sharks, Rebels and Bulls.
