Well, what does it mean? The way I think, we should first consider that it is a professional sport. Big bucks. Now, if I have a team and over some time I have seen that the current approach doesn't bear fruit, I believe I should change my approach. If I keep on "not winning" I also keep on, not earning etc. In general investors start to give my funny looks.

What to do. Look around and it seems (haven't look at stats, so it is only a guess) that NZ is currently on a high, with reference to both WC, 4 Nations and always not too far from the top in Super 15. So if their style is considered to be successful, I have to adapt. For fast adapting, get a coach and some players and pray for osmosis.

But watch it - being successful in rugby doesn't mean that everyone coming from that country will be good at it. Coaches of successful campaigns could bring success. The others - your guess as good as mine.

There is other stuff that also counts towards success. The structures from junior levels up, should deliver. I still can't believe if my country's league is full of players from elsewhere, that will leave me with an excellent choice for the national team.

But, I believe the number of NZ coaches elsewhere, means that someone think that NZ is on the up - as far as rugby is concerned.

On the other hand should Jamie Joseph be coaching the highlanders, loads of talent no results !! They don't look like a team playing for each other very disappointing , slow response to the tackle ball causing loads of turn overs , we all know the talent in the team must be the coach ...
