There are no Crusaders in Round 9 Team of the Round, despite them continuing their dominant form.
The Super Rugby Team 9 Team of the Round on www.testrugby.com has some notable omissions with no Crusaders despite them winning another match impressively against the Chiefs. Their usual brigade of point scorers including Robbie Fruean, Sonny Bill Williams and Israel Dagg, were outshone by some lesser lights who played in high scoring matches. There is nothing like an 11 try thriller in South Africa and some other high scoring matches to throw the cat amongst the pigeons. On a personal note, my halves were disappointing with Peter Grant not playing (but the Stormers were named late), while Colin Slade went off after scoring only 10 (www.testrugby.com points), how did you go?
There are some real newbies to this side, with only Andries Bekker, Adam Thomson, Quade Cooper, Sarel Pretorius, Matt Giteau and Drew Mitchell being regular high points scorers. It was only a matter of time before Schalk Burger made this team, while John Afoa did well to make the team from prop. There were some absolutely left field players to make this team courtesy of their team scoring plenty of tries like Siale Piutau, Andre Taylor, Luke Morahan,
