conrad taking a sabbatical is the smart thing to do, at 31 hes not getting any younger and this will help is longevity in the game, especially considering he will be 34 when the RWC is wrapped up.

but im not too sure about snake being "too valuable", IMO ranger has made some serious inroads the last couple of seasons and i see him as the All Blacks 13 come the RWC.
rangers form in the spXV has been second to none, one of the most destructive ball carriers and defenders in the game. in many seasons gone by he had serious problems with his work rate around the field, but thats all changed now as the blues younger backline look to him for guidance and that extra responsibility has done rangers rugby career wonders.

i think between now and 2015, hansen needs to start phasing out conrad and phase in ranger, its the smart thing to do.

the EOYT will be a great opportunity for ranger to start cementing his place, as i cant see hansen not playing conrad for the french and RC.
