Hire Experts For Concrete Cutting Making The Best
Concrete Driveways Adelaide is often recommended because of their low servicing. While road needs maintenance over several decades, concrete, once set up and enclosed, needs very little care. However, the concrete costs more than the road to set up, so you do pay a price for the time you will save.

Ramifications of Ireland Win Over Australia 2 views 11 Comments
18 September 2011 by The Swede Eaters

Scotty Donaldson looks at how the Ireland win affects the RWC tournament and the All Blacks chances.

The Ireland victory over Australia at the Rugby World Cup 2011 by 15-6 has blown the tournament wide open.  This result has widespread ramifications for the quarter finals make up.  Do you think New Zealand should throw their next game to France?  I don't think they would ever want to give one of their rivals a victory, but it must be tempting in order to avoid Australia and South Africa in the semi finals.

The quarter finals are now likely to see two of the big five eliminated with a mouthwatering clash between Australia and South Africa the headline match scheduled for Wellington.  England are likely to face France if the All Blacks beat them in another quarter final.  The winner of the Samoa vs Wales match now looks set to face Ireland in the quarter finals, giving Ireland, Samoa and Wales a great chance to make it to a Rugby World Cup semi final.  Wales made it in 1987.  The other quarter final should feature the All Blacks vs Scotland or Argentina.

Looking ahead to the semi finals, the winner of the likely South Africa vs Australia match will most likely face New Zealand as a reward in the semi finals.  The winner of the England vs France match plays the winner of the Ireland vs Wales or Samoa match.  With the semi finals like this, would it be better if the All Blacks lose to France in pool play and assuming they survive a quarter final against England, they would then face Ireland, Wales or Samoa in a Rugby World Cup semi final?  Otherwise, the All Blacks will face one of their closest rivals (Australia or South Africa) in the semi final, while the Rugby World Cup final could now easily feature England, France, Ireland, Wales or Samoa.

What do you think of this Ireland win and the ramifications for the rest of the Rugby World Cup 2011 tournament?

Deans has had some shockers with his subs.. if you want these guys to play at the pace that he wants them to he should use his bench?

as long as they are good games and not decided by the whistle wit consistent decisions. R Deans may stick to players but he brings on subs too late in the last 10 mins in most games. No decent reserve no. 7 looks poor planning.

In my opinion bring on either Australia or South Africa. Sth Africa will be tough but as for the custard squares I think they are only pretenders they may as well head back to Oz tonight.
There is only two team at the moment NZ & SA there's your final right there.

It will be interesting to see how France approaches their match against the All Blacks now. They may not even field a full strength side.

Think about it - If we throw the game we play England - Wales/Ire - SA/OZ If we beat France we play Scot/Arg - OZ/SA - Eng/Wales/Ire. The second option is way better. Its effectively a choice between playing Scotland/Arg or England in the qtr and of course it would be preferable to avoid England. Apart from the fact that the ABs would never through a game.

Focus has to be on winning each game, look at what Ireland did, they had a specific gameplan for a specific team. They executed it perfectly. Robbie Deans is doing what all Kiwis want Graham Henry to do.. play the same team each week, he has no option but to roll these guys out again. Other teams now have a template to beating them, he doesn't have too many aces up his sleeve? Unfit players like Polotu-Nau, Palu and Digby Ioane when he comes back are his aces???

This ain't Super 15 rugby!

Southern Hemisphere on one side vs. Northern Hemisphere on the other side of the draw. It's turned into NFL!

That was Ireland's final right there! Oz on the other hand just got their wake-up call. AB's v France is no foregone conclusion like all the discussion seems to believe. They's beaten us plenty often in the last couple of decades. Either which way, we've got to win 3 tough games through quarters, semis and finals if the big prize is to be won, so who cares what order they come in.

Throwing a game amounts to a form of corruption. Each team should always give its best.

No, throwing the game is a bad idea. It would just put us in a quarterfinal against England (who will be incredibly tough to beat- just look at the way they clicked into knockout mode rugby in the last ten minutes against Argentina.) Have the top team beat France, Canada and Argentina in the quarters, and we will have a good chance of going all the way.

I dont think throwing any game is a good idea for the All Blacks, they need to stay focussed on their own game plan which will be tested next week against the French. If anyone is going to throw the match it will be France, they have everything to gain. Facing South Africa or Australia in the semi-final is nothing new for the AB's in fact they know what to do against both these teams but they need to win the Quarter final first right?
